II. Wax Modeling & Casting

Jewelry fabrication with the help of waxes.
Students will learn the manufacturing of jewelry gaining a range of new skills such as carving waxes and mold making. Learn wax mold injection techniques including spruing, treeing and investing. Students are taught to cast using the centrifugal casting method using different precious metals. You will be able to inspect and identify imperfections in your models and learn how to correct the problems.

Course Pre-requisite(s):
you must have at least 6 months of fabrication experience
you must have successfully taken the Jewelry Technician course.

- All tools, metals, casting grains, waxes, investment, equipment, and student handbooks are included.
- Approximate time and clock hours to be spent: 36 hours or approximately 2 weeks of uninterrupted training.
